Many people practice tai chi, chi gong, and so on with the aim of keeping their bodies fit for a long time. There is certainly nothing wrong with keeping one’s body fit — indeed, it is one of the aims of yoga — but unfortunately, many such people are trying to run away from the inevitable death of the body. Some mystic yogis strive to keep their bodies alive forever — but that is not possible. Even if one was the greatest yogi and could keep his body alive for thousands of years, that still is not forever.
Science of Identity Foundation – Chris Butler Speaks
The Cause of All Causes is a PersonWhenever we speak of will, the first question that arises is, “Whose will ?” Will is an attribute of a person, or a symptom of personality. An impersonal force cannot and does not have a will, but a person does.
If I show you a small statue or piece of art, and tell you that it came to be as a result of will, immediately you will ask me, ‘Whose will ?’ or ‘Who is the person who willed it to exist?’ If I tell you, “Nobody’s will; just will by itself,” you will not be able to accept it. You will know that there has to be a person connected with that will. The existence of wil1 points to a person, a possessor of the will. That is why we never think of will except in connection with a living being, a person, a willer.
Thus, the cause of all causes obviously possesses will, and is therefore obviously a person.
This is not so difficult to perceive when we consider the characteristics or attributes of the Supreme Controller which we have already mentioned. Creation, for example, is an activity performed by a person or living being. We have no experience of "nothing" creating something. We also have no experience of the existence of vague, impersonal creative forces which just go around creating things. We do, however, have innumerable experiences of persons creating or causing the creation of innumerable things.
The ability to create, or be creative, is an attribute that a person possesses. A prolific artist is said to be “creative,” as is a poet, photographer, actress, TV producer, potter, weaver, etc. A visitor to an art school comments, “Whose creation is this?” when he sees a beautiful painting. As soon as he sees the creation, he immediately takes it for granted that a person created it! Persons create creations.
